The Bitzer Ecostar installation is the largest in the Baltic States

The A7 hypermarket in Riga is a Latvian pilot project where condensing units have been chosen as the solution in the refrigeration applications.

Beijer Ref’s Latvian company, MaxCool SIA, has delivered a total of nine Bitzer Ecostar condensing units – complete units in which compressors, condensers and automatic control engineering are included. A central part in the system consists of Bitzer’s Octagon Varispeed piston compressors.

This is the largest Ecostar installation in the Baltic States so far. A total of 21 evaporators – refrigeration counters, freezers and refrigeration shelves – as well as 14 refrigeration rooms are linked to the nine units. A plug-and-play solution has been applied, which takes up only a third of the space compared with an integrated installation. The entire control and regulating system is remote-monitored via Modbus, which enables supervision over the operating parameters from both the office and from home.

Complete solutions such as Ecostar enjoy a good development in the Baltic States. The operating expenses can be significantly reduced thanks to smart technical solutions with intelligent control.

MaxCool has sold several dozens of Ecostar in Latvia during the past year. The A7 hypermarket is an important pilot project ahead of future similar installations.
